Do What is Pleasing
Sometimes I feel stuck when it comes time to make a decision.
How do I know which choice is the right one?
What if my choice brings me farther away from where I want to be?
What if I'm listening to other, louder voices and not the gentle urging of God?
I can play the what if game all day long. I forget to focus on the realest thing in my life: God, and his love for me. He doesn't try to trick us. He doesn't write us off for making the "wrong" choice. He doesn't need grand actions all the time. He is pleased when we act out of faith.
God is pleased when I am loving others. He is pleased when I'm at peace. He is pleased when I am spending time with him in prayer and doing good in the world and reflecting on his presence in my life. He is pleased when I'm happy.
Today we pray for the intercession of Saint Kateri Tekakwitha. Whenever we have a decision to make, we pray for the courage to do what is pleasing to God.
